Magnus Wins at Only the Third Time of Asking!

Magnus showed he can handle soft ground when winning a 2-y-o median novice race at Wetherby today over five and a half furlongs.  He’s a genuine horse, we’re very pleased with him and he should improve further.

Well done to trainer Tom Dascombe and to jockey Ben Curtis who rode an excellent race.

Good boy Magnus!

Magnus Ready To Make His Debut At Ripon!

Our two-year-old colt Magnus is all set to make his debut. Trainer Tom Dascombe is happy with his progress and the Partnership will be out in force to see him!

It’s great to announce that we have a couple of two-year-olds trained by Tom Dascombe that will racing for us this year.

Our Makfi colt out of Royale Danehill has been named MAGNUS and our Havana Gold filly out of Royal Whisper has been named QUEEN OF SALSA.

I have one share left to sell, so please get in touch if you’re interested.  e-mail stephentaplin@hotmail.com

Cape Spirit and Stag Party both have promising runs

Cape Spirit is very consistent and may not have got her head in front yet but she’s been placed four times from six runs so far.  Her second at Chepstow was soon followed by another second at Nottingham.  Next time a winner hopefully!

Stag Party was way too green to do himself justice on his debut at Sandown.  Next time he still showed his inexperience but finished his race well, ending up 7th of the 16 runners.  We’re looking forward to the rest of the season with him too.

Partnership Horses for 2016 !

The exciting news for us is that we have two new horses for the 2016 Flat Season!

The four-year-old filly Cape Spirit and the two-year-old colt Stag Party (by Thewayyouare out of Betrothed) are both in training with Andrew Balding at Kingsclere.  We’re already looking forward to our stable visit in mid-March.

Cape Spirit is by the top-class sire Cape Cross and her dam is a half-sister to another top-class racehorse in Rodrigo de Triano.  So her pedigree is a good one and she should give us plenty of good days out at the races.

Stag Party looks a ready made two-year-old colt and considering his sire has already produced the top-class colt Toast Of New York we have an awful lot to look forward to.

If you’d like a share in our horses for the season get in touch with me via e-mail stephentaplin@hotmail.com.  BEAR IN MIND I ONLY HAVE ONE SHARE LEFT!

Breslin and Sylvestre De Sousa at Redcar

At Redcar

Breslin Wins !

Breslin won comfortably at Wolverhampton last night (29th September) to make it two winners with two horses for our Partnership this season.  Ridden by Sylvestre de Sousa he was fitted with a visor for the first time and given a more forceful ride than in his previous races.  Leaders trainers Godolphin, Sir Mark Prescott and Mark Johnston all had runners in the race but Breslin wasn’t for catching.

It was my birthday, so I was particularly chuffed to be there and see his victory.

Well done to trainer Mick Channon who has always thought he’d win for us this year.

Chilworth Icon wins for us at Sandown Park!

Each year we seem to have at least one winner and 2015 is no exception!  At Sandown Park on the 22nd August Chilworth Icon ran a blinder to pulverise the opposition and win by over two lengths, under Mick Channon’s stable jockey Charlie Bishop.  The handicapper will raise his mark again now, but that should put him in with a chance of an even bigger prize in one of the big sprint handicaps coming up.

A genuine, consistent sprinter, before Sandown he was just touched off in good handicaps at Ripon, Newcastle and Doncaster.  What a good horse he’s proving to be for us!

Here’s his Sandown trophy, including a framed photograph of his win.

Chilworth Icon Showing Consistent Form

With his recent form figures of 3345 ‘Icon’ has been knocking on the door and hopefully it won’t be long before he wins for us.  This pic shows him racing for the line when he was third at Chester in June.
