Tobermory Boy set to start his careerOur three-year-old Tobougg colt, Tobermory Boy, has been entered for Newcastle in a ten furlong maiden, so his career is eventually about to start under trainer James Given. Murura, the Green Desert colt, won for the Partnership at Wolverhampton in March and we also have the debut of the grey Proclamation filly, Snow Legend, to look forward to in June. She is trained in Cheshire by Tom Dascombe and likely to make her debut over six furlongs. |

Issue 32 - January 2009
Our Horses for 2009 Our chestnut colt "Toby", now named Tobermory Boy, making friends with Hilary A bonny colt with a lovely temperament, he has every chance of being a winner. The sire, Tobougg, won the Group 1 Prix de la Salamandre and the Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes as a two-year-old and the following year he was placed in the Derby and the Champion Stakes. By the Breeders Cup Mile winner Barathea out of the French Oaks winner Lacovia, so he has all the attributes to make a decent stallion and, sure enough, he was the top British based first season sire in 2006. His best winners to date include the high-class 2008 two-year-old Penny's Gift, the New Zealand Grade 2 winner The Pooka, the listed winner Sweet Lilly and the smart colt Tobosa. Our foal’s dam, The In-Laws (by Be My Guest), won as a juvenile and she’s already bred 4 winners, so we have every hope that Toby will uphold the family honour! |
